Haiti Relief Efforts
Your Prayers and Support are Needed

As you hear news updates in the aftermath of the Earthquake in Haiti, let them be a reminder to you to pray for the people of Haiti and those who are working to help them. Please pray for those who were directly impacted by the quake, but also for government leaders who will make critical decisions about how to allocate resources and rescue workers. Remember those who are on their way and those who are already there to provide assistance. And pray about giving financial resources to assist in the recovery.

There are many great organizations and agencies who are already positioned to provide direct assistance, but here are links to several organizations that already had personnel on the ground before the quake, or who have teams in place right now. Each of these websites include the option to donate online to help fund the relief efforts.

www.HaitianHealthFoundation.org is the group that sponsored Elise Sweeney and Lynne Williams' mission trip to Haiti several years ago. Though their primary focus is on people outside of Port-au-Prince, many of the victims in PAP are trying to get to extended family outside the city, and much of the humanitarian aid that had been focused on these outlying areas has been redirected to the quake region.

www.SamaritansPurse.org is the Christian relief organization run by Franklin Graham, and they had relief workers in Haiti the day after the earthquake. Their focus is to serve the world's poor, sick and suffering in Jesus' name, so they've already delivered shelter materials, hygiene kits, water purification kits and a disaster response team.

Global Aid Network is the relief and development arm of Campus Crusade, and they already have food, water and medical supplies in southern Haiti, ready to be distributed (www.GainUSA.org).

The International Mission Board is one of our ministry partners with extensive contacts through two different networks of Haitian churches. They're already funneling resources and financial support through local church leaders who know exactly where the needs are within their communities. Initial funding is through www.BaptistGlobalResponse.com.
