| "DUH shows its versatility"
Fridays doubleheader against PR Construction might not have seemed exciting based on the dominant performance by the DUH squad. The excitement came from the teams ability to step up and get the job done. The line up was drawn and the players were ready to take the field.........."Wheres Rick Sweeney, our pitcher?"...............someone yelled "Traffic!"...........
When asked, our weeks most unlikely hero award winner Adam Kovack stepped up and filled the spot. He had never pitched a softball game in his life. He did it so well and his team made the necessary plays behind him to record Daybreak's first shut out (6-0) maybe in the teams history. Great job Adam.
Susan Lehrer gets this weeks mention. We're not sure that she would consider it honorable. While filling in for Michelle Teal, Susan was rounding second coming into third. At first it looked like a slow motion slide but somehow turned into some kind of Afghanistan traditional face dance ending with Susan's face in the dust. She was safe. That's taking one for the team.......I think? Rick did make the second game and lead Daybreak to victory 15 - 10. Rick likes the close ones. |
